DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL SCIENCE AND VETERINARY MEDICINE
The mission of the Department is to provide high-quality human resources for the development of the animal science and veterinary medicine in the country and international integration, as well as scientific research and technology transfer to serve the community.
Organization: There are 15 lecturers (08 PhDs, 02 PhD students and 05 masters).
Teaching: Currently, we offer a science-based curriculum with customized programs of study aligned community demand, including Bachelor and Master degrees in Animal Science. Many successfully graduates and are holding important roles in state management agencies, domestic and international enterprises with positions as managers, experts, technical staffs, farm owners,…
Scientific research: Being one of the units with many achievements in scientific research and technology transfer, the Department has carried out many projects at national and international levels. The scientific research focuses mainly on nutrition of feed and animal products, animal genetics and breeding, veterinary biologics, veterinary pathology, diagnostic and treatment techniques for following directions: (1) Improving animal productivity and quality; (2) Utilising agicultural by-products and local resources for animal feed; (3) Applying microbiological technology in animal science and veterinary medicine; (4) Quality control of feed and feed ingredients; (5) Responding to climate change and improving the environment. Since then, many scientific papers have been published in prestigious national and international journals which highly appreciated by experts.
Training: The Department often supplies training courses, providing technical advice in the field of animal science and veterinary medicine for veterinary technicians and farmers.
Facilities: The Department is well-equipped with a system of experimental site and laboratories to enhance teaching, scientific research and technology transfer.
